Leave the crowds behind and discover the Malta that is known only to a few individuals, who are the privileged custodians of its unique natural, architectural and historical heritage.
Here at Citrus Luxury, we know that while visiting Malta you’ll want to see the highlights and iconic sites, yet we also grasp that a blend of both well-known and lesser-known spots offer visitors a more enriching and immersive experience. So break away from the crowds and embrace the great outdoors when you embark on one of our guided adventure activities.
Half Day Private Kayak Experience
Your chauffeur driven car will transfer you to the scenic Armier Bay, on the northern coast of the island, where you will be greeted by your guide. Before hopping into your tandem kayak, you will be brought up to speed on the relevant health and safety tips, then given an action plan for the activity ahead.
Take to the seas with your guide and steer off towards the rocky foreshore, where you’ll glide under natural stone arches and dart into caves for some respite in the shade. Marvel at the rock formations and try to spot winged-wildlife nesting in the craggy cliffs. If your arms are up for the challenge, power yourself across the channel to the island of Comino and its crystalline waters – which will undoubtedly lure you in for a dip. On the return leg of the journey you will be guided towards a secret natural gem, known as the Coral Lagoon. This large, naturally formed cave is open to sunlight which keeps the seawater a notch warmer than the surrounding sea – thus attracting a variety of marine life, including star-fish and corals – so bring a pair of goggles as well as your sun cream.
Half Day Private Guided Trekking
Take an eco-trip in nature and let your legs carry you forth into discovery-mode. Commencing in a quaint, rural village square, you and your private guide will wander past wayside chapels on country lanes and seek-out hidden historical ruins. During the walk you will benefit from the in-depth knowledge of your local naturalist guide, who will offer insight on both the surrounding ecosystem and the traditions and culture of the land. As you trek further into natural terrain you will learn the importance of how the local flora contributes to this unique island’s eco system.
This rewarding trip offers an educational aspect to the journey and provides you with a deeper understanding of the balance with nature in which we live.
As with all treks, this one ends traditionally with a well deserved thirst quencher in a quaint village watering-hole surrounded by friendly locals.
As our trips are uniquely tailor-made, the length and difficulty-rating of our hikes can be completely adapted to you and your travel companions. Simply advise the P&A Sullivan experts on what level of trek you’re aiming for and we’ll plan it accordingly.
Half Day Coasteering
If reading a book with one foot dipped into the hotel pool leaves you needing that something extra, then a coasteering adventure might pique your interest instead.
Less for the faint hearted and more for the daredevil adrenaline-seekers, we’ve put together a programme that will have you scrambling over boulders, climbing cliff faces, then jumping into the sea from a variety of heights. Armed with a helmet, wetsuit and life jacket you’ll get to traverse the inside of a huge cave and crawl through tight entry points in order to progress along the cliff route.
This one kilometre coastal adventure might leave you needing a day by the pool with your book after all, but this out-in-the-elements challenge, in one of the most natural and scenic locations in Malta, could very possibly wind up being your unexpected holiday highlight.
