Cocktails: Inspiration & Fun

At any event, from weddings to corporate gatherings, one detail can truly set the mood: a good cocktail. It’s not just a drink, it’s a statement of style, hospitality, and celebration. The right cocktail doesn’t just refresh: it sparks conversations, connects people, and leaves an unforgettable memory.

A bit of history
The word cocktail first appeared in print in 1806 in an American newspaper, defined as “a stimulating liquor composed of any kind of spirits, sugar, water, and bitters”.
One of the most charming origin stories comes from New Orleans, where pharmacist Antoine Peychaud served his mixtures in small egg cups called coquetiers in French, a term that eventually evolved into cocktail.
During Prohibition in the U.S. (1920–1933), cocktails became even more popular, as fruits, spices, and juices helped mask the taste of poor-quality alcohol.
The cocktail as an art form
Today, mixology is considered an art. Bartenders carefully blend flavors, aromas, and textures with the precision of a gourmet chef. Presentation is just as important as taste: a cocktail garnished with citrus slices, fresh herbs, or edible flowers is a feast for the eyes as well as the palate.

How to choose the perfect cocktail for your event
  • If you have a sweet tooth
Go for fruity and colorful cocktails like Piña ColadaDaiquiri, or Sex on the Beach. Perfect for a summery, dessert-like drink.
  • If you prefer something fresh and light
Choose citrus- or herb-based drinks like MojitoGin & Tonic, or Aperol Spritz. Elegant, refreshing, and easy to sip all evening.
  • If you’d rather skip the alcohol
Mocktails can be just as sophisticated. Try tropical fruit blends with herbs and sparkling water for a festive yet healthy option.
Fun facts to impress your guests
  • The Margarita is one of the world’s best-selling cocktails, with more than five competing origin stories.

Cocktails: more than just a drink
At any event, a well-chosen cocktail can tell a brand’s story, reflect the theme of the party, or transport guests to an exotic destination. It’s not just about taste, it’s about the experience. A perfectly served toast can be the spark that lights up the night.
