Malta to Host the Mediterrane Film Festival
For the second consecutive year, Malta is gearing up to host the Mediterrane Film Festival, an event under the esteemed patronage of Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech and curated by the talented Artistic Director Teresa Cavina.
This year’s festival, themed “Unity through Film,” aims to foster dialogue and understanding between Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. The festival promises a rich array of programming, events, and industry sessions all centered around this unifying message.
Celebrating “Unity through Film”
From June 22nd to 30th, the historic capital of Malta, Valletta, will transform into a vibrant hub for film enthusiasts.
Valletta’s iconic venues will provide the perfect backdrop for the festival. The Grand Master’s Palace, St. George’s Square, and The Main Guard will host various events, with St. George’s Square being transformed into the main outdoor screening venue. Meanwhile, The Main Guard will become the festival’s immersive pavilion, offering an engaging and interactive experience for attendees.
Film categories
The Mediterrane Film Festival will showcase a diverse selection of films competing in four categories: Main Competition, Out of Competition, Mare Nostrum, and Future Visions. This carefully curated lineup promises to captivate audiences and highlight the shared stories and experiences across the Mediterranean region.
Join us in Valletta for a celebration of cinema that bridges cultures and fosters unity. The Mediterrane Film Festival is not just an event, but a movement towards a more connected and understanding world.
